In addition to operating our own legal and accounting practices, we provide outsourced legal cashiering, compliance, bookkeeping, and practice support services to law firms across the UK.As demand for our services continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Legal Cashier, Compliance & Practice Accounts Officer to join our team.The RoleThis is a diverse and rewarding role that extends beyond traditional legal cashiering. The successful candidate will work across our legal practice, accountancy practice, and outsourced compliance division, supporting both internal operations and external solicitor clients.The role would suit someone with strong legal finance experience who is interested in developing broader expertise in legal compliance, practice management, and professional services operations.Key ResponsibilitiesLegal Cashiering ● Managing client and office account transactions. ● Processing receipts, payments, transfers, and reconciliations. ● Maintaining compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules. ● Preparing and reviewing client account records. ● Supporting property and commercial transaction accounting. ● Assisting with regulatory audits and file reviews.Legal Compliance Services ● Supporting law firms with Solicitors Accounts Rules compliance. ● Assisting with client account reviews and reconciliations. ● Supporting preparation for SRA inspections and audits. ● Assisting with anti-money laundering procedures and compliance monitoring. ● Helping firms implement and improve financial controls and procedures. ● Supporting outsourced COFA and practice management functions. ● Preparing compliance reports and management information for clients.Practice Accounts & Business Support ● Assisting with bookkeeping and accounting functions. ● Processing supplier invoices and payments. ● Supporting payroll and management reporting activities. ● Assisting with credit control and debt recovery administration. ● Maintaining accurate financial records across multiple entities. ● Supporting month-end and year-end processes.Essential Requirements ● Previous experience as a Legal Cashier. ● Strong understanding of Solicitors Accounts Rules. ● Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. ● Strong organisational and communication skills. ● Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. ● Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and legal accounting software.Desirable Experience ● Experience supporting legal compliance functions. ● Knowledge of SRA regulatory requirements. ● Bookkeeping or accountancy practice experience. ● Experience with cloud accounting systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage. ● Experience working with multiple legal practices or professional service firms.What We Offer ● Competitive salary and benefits package. ● Flexible working arrangements. ● Ongoing professional and compliance training. ● Opportunity to develop expertise across legal, compliance, and accounting disciplines. ● Career progression within a growing professional services group. ● Maintaining Breach Registers.
