Job Summary
Reporting to the Print Manager we are seeking an experienced Print Minder to join our busy print team. You will play a vital role in the production process and will be responsible for operating and maintaining printing machinery to produce high-quality printed materials. This role requires a keen eye for detail, technical proficiency, and a commitment to meeting production deadlines.
Responsibilities
Machine Operation: To operate various printing machines, to produce printed materials according to job specifications, to the highest quality standards.
Material Handling: Load and unload materials onto printing equipment, ensuring that the correct paper, ink, and other supplies are used for each job.
Quality Control: Monitor print quality throughout the production process, making adjustments as needed to maintain consistency and excellence in the final product.
Cleaning and Maintenance: Participate in routine cleaning and maintenance tasks for printing machinery to ensure proper functioning and minimise downtime
Safety & Environmental Compliance: To positively engage in the #SafetyFirst culture on site and follow all Company safety policies, practices, and rules to maintain a safe working environment, always ensuring compliance to any regulatory requirements (e.g. COSHH)
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements, implementing initiatives to improve efficiencies.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including machine assistants and quality control, to meet production targets and resolve issues efficiently
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience operating lithographic printing presses such as Komori or Heidelberg
- Strong focus on quality, cleanliness and attention to detail with a commitment to produce high-quality work
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-standards work environment
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings and weekends
Physical Demands of Role
You must have excellent colour vision with the ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
There is a requirement to handle materials and board so you must be able to lift /position them into the correct workspace. Having the capacity to lift and move materials as required by the job is essential.
