We are looking for an ambitious Pub Manager who wants more than just a job someone who wants to grow, learn, and progress within a well-structured, multi-site pub company.
This role is ideal for someone with some management or supervisory experience who is ready to step up, take ownership, and develop into a future General Manager.
The pub is heavily student-driven, social, and energetic, located next to football grounds. Matchdays and sports events are part of the rhythm, supported by Sky Sports and TNT Sports (BT), creating a great atmosphere without being overwhelming.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about the pub and takes pride in running it as if it were their own.
You will be someone who:
- Takes real ownership of standards and presentation
- Understands that housekeeping and appearance matter
- Leads from the front and sets the tone for the team
- Is organised, proactive, and confident in decision-making
- Wants to grow within a clear structure, not reinvent it
This is a role for someone who wants to build a career, not just fill a position.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the owners in the day-to-day running of the pub
- Maintaining excellent presentation, cleanliness, and overall standards
- Managing and motivating the team on shift
- Creating and managing staff rotas
- Handling stock ordering and deliveries
- Ensuring strong housekeeping and back-of-house organisation
- Delivering great customer service, especially during busy sports periods
- Assisting with training, compliance, and operational procedures
- Helping drive sales, atmosphere, and engagement with a student audience
Experience & Skills
- Previous hospitality experience (Supervisor / Team Leader / Assistant Manager level)
- Strong communication skills and confidence on the floor
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Comfortable managing people, standards, and stock
- Willingness to learn, develop, and take feedback
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and matchdays
This is not a role for someone looking to “change everything from day one.”
It is a role for someone who wants to learn, develop, and progress within an established, successful business.
