Academic Dance Tutors
LMA Liverpool, London and Newcastle are seeking passionate and experienced Freelance Academic Dance Tutors to join its growing teams
We are looking for tutors with expertise in dance studies and related disciplines, and experience delivering engaging, high-quality teaching in further and higher education. Our programmes span Level 3 (BTEC), Levels 4–6 (undergraduate), and Level 7 (postgraduate), offering opportunities to work across multiple levels in areas aligned with your expertise.
Disciplines include: Dance Theory and Analysis, Dance History and Contextual Studies, Choreographic Theory and Practice, Introduction to Research Methods, Reflective Practice, Critical and Cultural Perspectives in Dance, and Independent Research Projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging academic teaching across Levels 3–7
- Support students’ academic, critical thinking, and research development
- Prepare learners for assessments, research projects, and academic progression
- Foster an inclusive, industry-focused learning environment
- Assess written, practical, and research-based work and provide feedback (training provided)
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects (where/if required)
Desirable Requirements
- Degree or higher in Dance, Performing Arts, Education, or a related field
- Recognised teaching qualification or HE teaching experience
- Teaching/lecturing experience in FE and/or HE
- Experience in curriculum development and academic quality assurance
- Professional industry experience within dance or the wider performing arts sector
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
