We are seeking 1-2 skilled and detail-oriented Precision Machinists / TIG Welders to join our manufacturing team working on parts from high performance engines, typically from racing motorcycles, watercraft, snowmobiles and so on for customers throughout the UK & Europe and beyond.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background to develop their skills to include precision machining using manual machines such as lathes, vertical mills or precision honing machines, as well as TIG welding and other processes.
The ideal applicant will demonstrate proficiency with various hand and power tools, possess a solid understanding of precision measuring equipment (for example micrometers and bore gauges). A practical background in motorcycle or automotive racing as a hobby would be great.
Duties
The successful candidates can enjoy a varied range of work including:
- wet bead blasting
- using hand tools to disassemble components
- TIG welding of aluminium
- Conduct grinding processes by hand to achieve desired dimensions and shapes.
- setting up and operating manual lathes, mills and honing machines to close tolerances
- applying a wear resistant coating on aluminium parts by electroplating
- using basic maths skills for measurements, tolerances, and calculations necessary during machining and assembly tasks.
- maintaining a clean and organised workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- collaborating with team members on continuous improvement initiatives to optimise manufacturing processes.
Proven experience in areas such as precision machining, TIG welding, or related manufacturing roles such as die grinding, use of hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement equipment is essential. We will expect applicants to:
- perform basic maths calculations accurately for measurements and tolerances.
- demonstrate excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality control standards.
- have good organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Pay: £13.85-£15.10 per hour
