FULL TIME FARM SHOP GENERAL ASSISTANT
We are seeking a Full Time Farm Shop General Assistant to join our team working across all departments within our farm shop.
Core Duties:
- Stock replenishment: unloading deliveries, organising back-of-house storage, and quickly restocking the sales floor
- Quality control: inspecting produce to remove bruised, damaged, or expired items to ensure freshness
- Customer service: Helping shoppers find specific items, offering recommendations, and answering produce-related questions
- Housekeeping & waste reduction: Sweeping, cleaning shelves, and managing markdown routines for items nearing their sell-by date
- Pricing & labelling: Ensuring all produce is accurately priced and clearly labelled with correct signage
Key skills needed:
- Physical stamina: Ability to do heavy lifting, bending, and standing for long periods
- Product knowledge: A general understanding of seasonal produce and how to handle delicate items without damaging them
- Time management: Balancing shelf-stacking speeds while keeping the department neat and tidy during busy hours
- Attention to detail: Strict adherence to health and safety standards
