Maintenance Person - Handyman/Woman
Job Description
The Handyperson role is to provide assistance with general maintenance duties for the Care home and ensure that the grounds look both welcoming and well-kept throughout the year.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
- To maintain a high standard relating to the upkeep of the inner and outer buildings by undertaking general repairs, painting, decorating and general maintenance duties where required
- To be aware of Fire Procedure and Regulations. Checking fire alarms weekly, water temperatures and the essential checks. Completing of records and maintaining the appropriate records.
- To be aware of Health & Safety, C.O.S.H.H Regulations and ensure they are carried out at all times
- To assist with the transportation and storage of deliveries and supplies to the home
- To carry out any additional duties as required by the Home Manager
- Equipment repairs and servicing (vacuum cleaners, wheelchairs etc.)
- Minor electrical works - replacing light fittings etc.
- Plumbing repairs, leaks, blockages, installing new sanitary ware, etc. Refitting bathrooms
- Installing & repairing fixtures and fittings (curtain tracks, door furniture etc.)
- General maintenance of the front and back garden
- Keep the shed, outbuildings and areas in which waste is stored in a clean and tidy condition
- Clear snow and grit paths/driveways and any areas to which residents, visitors or staff members have access
- Tend to any flower beds, hanging baskets etc.
- Clean signs and lighting outside the home.
- Assist with the day to day maintenance of the home including any faults or repairs.

To succeed in this role you will need to have
- Previous maintenance or gardening experience is desirable
- Knowledge of Health & Safety in the workplace is essential

- Good problem-solving skills and use of initiative
- Flexible approach to work
- Flexible with working hours
Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour

- Maintenance: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
