Job Overview
We are looking for a passionate and reliable Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team at Sef Steakhouse.
This is a full-time, hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys working with fresh ingredients in a busy, fast-paced restaurant kitchen.
You will be responsible for running your section during service, maintaining strong preparation and presentation standards, and working closely with the wider kitchen team to deliver consistently high-quality dishes.
Experience in a similar kitchen environment would be beneficial, but training will be provided to help you understand our menu, equipment, steak preparation, and kitchen standards.
Role & Responsibilities
As Chef de Partie, you will work closely with the Head Chef, Sous Chefs, and wider kitchen team to prepare and deliver dishes consistently to Sef Steakhouse standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and cooking fresh ingredients to a consistently high standard
- Running and maintaining your allocated section during service
- Following recipes, specifications, portioning, and presentation standards
- Maintaining excellent food quality during busy services
- Supporting effective communication and teamwork across the kitchen
- Completing daily preparation and ensuring your section is ready for service
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation
- Following food hygiene, allergen, and health & safety procedures
- Supporting stock rotation and reducing unnecessary food waste
- Taking responsibility for your section and resolving problems during service
- Supporting other sections and members of the kitchen team when required
What We're Looking For

Essential:
- Previous experience working within a professional kitchen
- Good understanding of how a busy kitchen operates
- Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety
- Ability to stay organised and focused under pressure
- Strong teamwork and communication
- Positive, reliable, and professional attitude
- Willingness to learn and develop
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and busy trading periods
Desirable:
- Previous Chef de Partie experience
- Steakhouse, grill, or charcoal cooking experience
- Experience working with premium cuts of meat
- Experience within a quality-led or high-volume restaurant
- Relevant food hygiene qualification
