Cooking Tutor - Home Visits (Children’s Home)

Day: Every Tuesday
Duration: 2-3 hours per week
Pay: £20-£30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Do you enjoy cooking and love helping children learn new skills?
We are looking for a dedicated, experienced and reliable Cooking Tutor to provide practical cooking sessions for children in their home in SW16.
This is more than just teaching recipes. The aim is to help children develop confidence, independence and everyday life skills through cooking.
⭐ What you’ll do
- Plan and deliver practical cooking sessions.
- Teach simple recipes and food preparation.
- Help children learn about kitchen safety and hygiene.
- Encourage children to try new foods and develop their confidence.
- Support children to become more independent in the kitchen.
- Adapt activities to suit individual needs and abilities.
- Keep sessions positive, engaging and encouraging.
⭐ What we’re looking for
- Experience working with children and young people.
- Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties or additional needs.
- Good cooking skills and confidence teaching others.
- A patient, calm and positive approach.
- Good communication skills.
- Reliable and able to commit to every Tuesday.
- Able to travel to SW16 for home visits.
- A professional approach to safeguarding and maintaining appropriate boundaries.
Desirable: Teaching, childcare, youth work or cookery experience, relevant qualifications, Food Safety training and an Enhanced DBS.
⭐ The ideal person
You don't need to be a professional chef. You could be a teacher who loves cooking, an experienced tutor, a cooking instructor or someone with strong childcare experience and a passion for food.
What matters most is that you are patient, creative, reliable and motivated to help children develop new skills.
Pay: £20.00-£30.00 per hour
