Location: Reading
Contract: Permanent – Part Time 27.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 2:00pm
Rate of Pay: £13.47 per hour
About the role
We are looking for a friendly, reliable and customer-focused Food Service Assistant to join our Sodexo team at the Johnson Matthey site in Reading.
This is a varied catering role where you will help deliver a high-quality food service to employees and guests. You’ll be part of a supportive team and will play an important role in ensuring our food service areas are welcoming, well-presented and operated to high standards of food safety, hygiene and customer service.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver friendly, professional food service to employees and guests

Prepare and serve food, including salads and hot and cold desserts

Maintain clean, safe and well-presented kitchen and service areas

Follow food safety, allergen, hygiene, health and safety, and COSHH procedures

Complete temperature checks, allergen records and other food safety documentation

Assist with stock management and stocktakes

Support the wider catering team during busy periods and as required
What We’re Looking For

Previous experience within catering, hospitality or food service

A customer-focused approach with good interpersonal and communication skills

Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures

The ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment

Good organisation and time-management skills

The ability to work independently as well as part of a team

A flexible approach and willingness to support different areas of the catering operation
