We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated Property Maintenance Operative to join our small, dedicated team based at Argyle Square in Sunderland. This is a hands-on role supporting the maintenance and upkeep of a large portfolio of residential properties across Sunderland and the wider North East.

About the Role
You will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of repair and maintenance tasks across both tenanted and vacant properties. Work will be allocated by our Operations Manager and managed through an app-based task management system, which you will use to receive instructions, update progress, and record job completion.
This role requires someone who can manage their own workload effectively, work to deadlines, and consistently deliver high-quality results with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- General property repairs and maintenance
- Painting and decorating
- Basic plumbing and/or electrical repairs
- Joinery work
- Tiling and patch plastering
- Garden and external maintenance
- Assessing repair requirements and identifying practical solutions
- Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
- Updating and managing tasks via a digital job management system
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in property maintenance (minimum 3 years preferred)
- Skilled across a range of domestic repair and maintenance tasks
- Confident using hand and power tools
- Highly practical with strong problem-solving abilities
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality workmanship
- Able to work independently and manage their own workload
- Comfortable following systems and processes accurately
- A clear and professional communicator
- Able to work at pace while maintaining high standards
Essential Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Proven experience in property maintenance or a multi-skilled trade role
