The Role
As a Service Coordinator, you will play a key role in the leadership and day-to-day operation of our residential services, working alongside the Homes Manager and Registered Manager to ensure the highest standards of care and support are consistently delivered. You will lead, motivate and support a team of Residential Support Workers, helping to create a positive culture where children feel safe, valued and encouraged to succeed. This role combines hands-on childcare practice with leadership responsibilities, ensuring the home operates effectively, children's needs are met and staff are supported to provide exceptional care. You'll also participate in the home's on-call rota, providing guidance and support when required outside of normal working hours.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting the daily operation of the residential home and maintaining high standards of care
- Leading, mentoring and developing Residential Support Workers
- Helping to create and implement individualised care plans that reflect each young person's needs and goals
- Promoting positive outcomes in education, independence, wellbeing and personal development
- Ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding requirements and company policies
- Coordinating staffing rotas and ensuring resources are managed effectively
- Maintaining accurate records, reports and documentation
- Supporting staff training, coaching and professional development
- Working collaboratively with families, social workers, education providers and other professionals
- Participating in the home's on-call rota and responding appropriately to incidents or emergencies
- Acting as a positive role model and promoting a therapeutic, child-centred approach to care

Essential
- Minimum of 1 year's experience working within a residential childcare setting
- Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Good understanding of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding and relevant legislation
- Experience supporting children with social, emotional and mental health needs
- Ability to work the 2 days on, 4 days off rota pattern
- Willingness to participate in the on-call rota
Desirable
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
- Previous experience in a Team Leader, Senior Residential Support Worker or supervisory role
- Full UK driving licence
