Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Van Driver to join our team. Expected hours 50 per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. This role requires excellent driving skills, good communication, and the ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading and unloading. Duties
- Safely operate company delivery vans to transport goods to designated destinations across the region.
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to optimise time and fuel consumption.
- Load and unload items, including heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring items are secure during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules and any unforeseen delays.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures and documentation as required.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety standards are met and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies to ensure safety on the road at all times.
- Assist with warehouse duties when required, including inventory management and stock organisation.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role, preferably with 2 years commercial driving experience.
- Driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience in warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and team members effectively.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan routes and manage time efficiently.
- Knowledge of local roads and traffic regulations within the area of operation.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing exceptional customer service.
