Skylark is a small independent restaurant with an extremely passionate and caring team where everyone works together and contributes their ideas for menu changes. We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our existing team who can work 40 hours a week which will include day time shifts and weekend evening shifts. Start date for this job is 01/07/2026.
Expectations of the role
- Oversee daily kitchen operations; ensuring high standards of food quality.
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, adhering to presentation standards.
- Manage inventory and supplies, ensuring the kitchen is well-stocked with necessary ingredients.
- Implement and maintain food safety protocols to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Communicate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
- Help develop new menu items and specials that reflect current culinary trends.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years kitchen experience in restaurant setting.
- Strong culinary skills with a deep understanding of food preparation techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Strong communication skills with kitchen team and front of house team.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for ingredient led cooking and creating exceptional dining experiences.
- Previous experience in team management is highly desirable.

Pay: £27,500.00-£29,000.00 per year
