We are looking for a cafe/bistro assistant to support the running of our cafe bistro in the centre of Yeovil. We specialise in local produce and simple yet delicious food. Barista experience is desirable although not essential. Training can be provided for the right candidate.
The successful candidate would be required to work every Sunday brunch service, there may also be another weekday shift if of interest. Any successful candidate over 18 will be put through our supervisor training and will therefore be able to pick up supervisor shifts once this is complete.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve drinks
- Welcome customers, take orders and provide recommendations based on their preferences
- Maintain a clean and organised cafe/bar area
- Handle cash and process payments accurately
- Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Monitor customer behaviour and intervene as necessary to prevent overconsumption or disruptive behaviour
- Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely food and beverage service
- Follow all food safety and allergen guidelines
Skills:
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Barista/bartending skills or a desire to learn
- Exceptional hospitality skills to provide excellent customer service
- Familiarity with The Acorn's operations and procedures
- Understanding of food safety regulations and practice
