The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Chef to join our small, dedicated kitchen team. This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can work independently as well as collaboratively, maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and kitchen hygiene.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the daily operation of the kitchen, helping to deliver breakfast, lunch, and evening service while contributing ideas for seasonal menus and specials.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook dishes to a consistently high standard.
- Assist with menu planning and development.
- Work efficiently during busy service periods.
- Ensure all food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures are followed.
- Manage stock rotation, ordering, and minimisation of waste.
- Support and collaborate with other members of the kitchen team.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Assist with training and supporting junior kitchen staff where required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen environment.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Passion for quality food and local produce.
- Good understanding of food safety regulations.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Positive attitude and strong team ethic.
Desirable
- Experience working in a hotel or gastropub environment.
- Relevant culinary qualifications.
- Knowledge of seasonal British cuisine and local Suffolk produce.

Pay: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
