Resulting from continuing growth within the business, we are looking for a passionate and experienced Production Manager to join and oversee our expanding team at our Rugby site.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day production/manufacturing of specialist liquid waste vacuum tankers and jetting equipment.
The role will include managing shop-floor operations, assembly teams, welding quality, health and safety compliance, and production targets.
Role Specification
· Planning and maintaining the production schedule
· Managing production resources, including equipment and facilities
· Monitoring productivity rates and product standards and implementing quality control programmes
· Ensuring customer orders are completed on time and to budget and that quality standards and targets are met
· Monitoring welder prolongation requirements and coordinating sign-off
· Monitoring welder qualification register & coordinating renewal as required
· Liaising across local and group teams to ensure a smooth and efficient production process, making sure everyone is aware of any process changes and improvements
· Identifying opportunities to improve processes to increase productivity, and reduce costs
· Responsible for recruitment of factory personnel alongside Group HR Manager
· Conducting performance reviews for factory personnel
· Identifying & maintaining factory personnel training requirements
· Working with the Group HSEQ Manager to implement and maintain H&S and environmental safety requirements, ensuring they are always followed and any concerns are addressed immediately.
· Setting and enforcing quality standards
· Responsible for the maintenance & inspections of equipment, and organise the repair of any damaged equipment
· Providing reports and regular updates to Senior Executive Team.
Candidate Specification
Experience:
Proven management background within a manufacturing environment, ideally within specialised commercial vehicles, heavy engineering, or fabrication.
Technical:
Strong understanding of metal fabrication, welding standards (mild and stainless steel), and assembly procedures.
Skills:
Effective leadership, solid organisational skills, strong cross-functional communication, computer literacy, and data-driven problem-solving abilities.
Communication:
Clear coordination between procurement, maintenance, sales, and senior company executives.
Essential information
· £54,000 - £57,000 per annum (dependent upon experience)
· Hours of work – Monday to Friday (08:00 – 16:30) – 40 hours per week
