We are looking for a Commercial Finance Manager to join the team. This is a senior business-partnering role responsible for leading the budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling that underpins commercial decision-making. The role owns the profit, cost and headcount models, drives the annual planning cycle and provides insightful reporting to the leadership team.
Responsibilities
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling reforecasts, coordinating inputs across commercial and operational teams.
- Build and maintain robust forecasting models, tracking performance against budget and explaining key variances.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to translate commercial plans into credible financial targets.
Profit & Cost Models
- Own and develop profitability and cost models, providing clear visibility of margins by product, client and business unit.
- Analyse cost drivers and identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Support pricing, investment and commercial decisions with scenario and sensitivity analysis.
Headcount Modelling & Reporting Commissions
- Build and maintain headcount and resourcing models, linking workforce plans to cost and capacity requirements.
- Produce timely, accurate management reporting and KPIs, turning data into clear commercial insight.
- Develop dashboards and reporting packs that support monthly reviews and board-level decision-making.
- Partner with the sales division to design, build and refine commission schemes that align incentives with commercial objectives.
- Model the financial impact of commission structures and ensure accurate, timely calculation and reporting of payouts.
Personal attributes
- Strong business-partnering and communication skills with the ability to influence senior non-finance stakeholders.
- Commercially astute, analytical and detail-oriented, with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
Experience and qualifications
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong post-qualification commercial finance experience.
- Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling within a commercial environment.
- Advanced Excel and financial-modelling skills
- Experience with BI/reporting tools is an advantage.
The role
Contract: Permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week)
Location: Hybrid, 2 days per week at our Manchester office
