We are unexpectedly looking for a new member of staff to join our wonderful team at Dorchester Household Recycling Centre. You will be required to advise and assist members of the public on this busy site. Making sure materials are placed in the correct skips, liaising and interacting and engaging with members of the public, hand sorting waste/recyclables and keeping the site clean and tidy. A booking system has also recently been introduced which means a tablet is provided to site staff to check permits, DIY bookings and manage the booking in system.
This outdoor work can be physically demanding and requires candidates who are hardworking team players. We require someone who would be willing and happy to also receive plant machinery training. An in-house ticket will be awarded for this.
Full training will be provided, along with uniform and PPE as standard.
The working week is working five days out of seven on a fixed rota as the site is fully operational seven days a week. The scheduled days off for this position are Monday and Tuesday of every week. Please note this does not change as it is a set rota.
The hours of work are:
8.00 am to 5.00 pm April to September
8.00 am to 4.30 pm October to March
We pay you for a 42.5 hour working week all year round and the hourly rate is currently £13.50. If you complete your full working week you will also receive an additional £15.00 for each Saturday, and £25.00 for each Sunday worked.
