Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Groomer to join our Grooming and Cafe. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional grooming services to a variety of dog breeds, ensuring each pet’s comfort and safety throughout the process. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a love of animals and experience in animal care to develop their skills within a supportive environment. The position is paid and suitable for both experienced groomers and those looking to expand their expertise in pet grooming.
Responsibilities
- Bathing, drying, and brushing dogs to maintain hygiene and coat health
- Trimming, clipping, and styling fur according to breed standards or customer preferences
- Checking for skin conditions, parasites, or abnormalities during grooming sessions
- Handling dogs gently and confidently to ensure a stress-free experience for pets and owners
- Maintaining cleanliness of grooming tools and work area in compliance with health and safety standards
- Providing excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding grooming needs and aftercare advice
- Assisting with animal care tasks as required, including handling heavy lifting of larger dogs when necessary
Experience
- Previous experience in dog grooming
- Knowledge of animal care practices and understanding of different dog breeds’ grooming requirements
- Strong customer service skills to ensure positive interactions with clients and pet owners
- Ability to handle animals calmly and confidently, especially during grooming procedures involving heavy lifting or challenging behaviour
- A genuine love for animals coupled with patience, attention to detail, and organisational skills are essential for success in this role
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £17.50-£18.00 per hour
