Roofing & Cladding Estimator
Hybrid – primarily office based | Competitive salary
Industrial Roofing Scotland (IRS) is looking for a Roofing & Cladding Estimator to join our estimating team. You'll work closely with our Head of Estimating and the wider sales team, pricing tenders and helping win new roofing and cladding work – including roof replacement and overcladding projects.
We welcome all applications from experienced estimators looking for their next opportunity, as well as experienced roofers and cladders keen to bring their on-site expertise into a new career off the tools.
What you'll be doing
- Pricing tenders for roofing and cladding projects, including roof replacement and overcladding.
- Completing accurate take-offs from drawings and specifications, using Bluebeam.
- Preparing Excel-based pricing and cost breakdowns.
- Obtaining and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Liaising directly with customers during the tender process.
- Working as part of the sales team to help convert enquiries into won work.
- Attending site visits and surveys as required.
What we're looking for
- Estimating experience within the roofing, cladding, or wider construction industry is preferred.
- We'll also consider candidates from outside the industry who have a Quantity Surveying (QS) degree, or relevant QS/cost estimating experience.
- Strong numeracy and attention to detail.
- Confident, clear communicator – comfortable liaising with customers and colleagues.
- Proficient with Bluebeam (or similar take-off software) and Excel.
- A full UK driving licence, for site visits and surveys.
