We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our growing engineering team in London. You will be responsible for the design, deployment, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure, working closely with development and operations teams to improve deployment frequency, system reliability, and overall infrastructure performance.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with solid production experience in AWS, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code, who is also comfortable mentoring less experienced engineers and contributing to technical decisions across the team.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain infrastructure on AWS using Terraform
- Manage and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI and GitHub Actions
- Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot containerised applications running on Kubernetes
- Set up and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack
- Participate in incident response, carry out root cause analysis, and document post-incident reviews
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes across the development and deployment lifecycle
- Work with development teams to embed security practices into the software development lifecycle
- Support capacity planning and cloud cost management
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and mid-level engineers
- Take part in an on-call rotation on a shared basis with the rest of the team
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering role
- Proven experience with AWS in a production environment (Azure or GCP experience also considered)
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go
- Practical experience running Kubernetes in production
- Experience writing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Good working knowledge of Linux administration and networking
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet
- Understanding of cloud security practices, including IAM and secrets management
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable
- Experience with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Flux
- Experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- Experience working in a regulated industry (e.g. financial services, healthcare)
