Overview
We are looking for an experienced Solar Project Manager to manage the delivery of commercial solar PV projects across the UK.
The role will involve managing projects from design through to completion, including planning, procurement, installation, commissioning and client handover. The successful candidate will have strong electrical knowledge, commercial awareness and experience managing teams and subcontractors.
This role requires nationwide travel with regular site visits and occasional overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial solar PV projects from start to finish.
- Oversee project delivery, ensuring work is completed safely, on time and within budget.
- Manage project budgets, forecasting, procurement and cost control.
- Coordinate site teams, electricians, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Carry out regular site visits across the UK.
- Manage client relationships and act as the main point of contact.
- Review project progress, solve issues and ensure successful completion.
- Support commissioning, testing and final handover.
- Ensure all works meet quality, safety and electrical standards.
Experience & Requirements
- Proven experience managing solar PV or electrical projects.
- Experience delivering mainly commercial solar projects (with some domestic exposure).
- Strong electrical background with practical installation experience.
- AM2 qualification (essential).
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Experience managing teams and subcontractors.
- Experience with project budgets, procurement and cost control.
- Strong communication and client management skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Clear and consistent employment history.
- Willingness to travel nationwide.
Desirable
- Experience with commercial rooftop solar installations.
- Experience with battery storage or EV charging projects.
- SMSTS qualification.
- ECS Gold Card.
