Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Warehouse Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various warehouse tasks, including loading and unloading goods, picking and packing orders, and maintaining stock levels. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to operate warehouse equipment safely. A strong understanding of warehouse management systems and materials handling is essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload goods from lorries and containers efficiently.
- Pick and pack orders accurately to ensure timely dispatch.
- Maintain stock levels by organising inventory in designated areas.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Handle materials with care to prevent damage during storage and transport.
- Assist in shipping and receiving activities, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately.
- Perform regular checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning, demonstrating mechanical knowledge when necessary.
- Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.
- Familiarity with AS400 or similar warehouse management systems is advantageous.
- Strong skills in materials handling, shipping, and receiving processes.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail when picking and packing orders.
- Mechanical knowledge to assist with equipment maintenance is beneficial.
- A proactive attitude towards teamwork and problem-solving is essential.
