Senior MIG Welder/Fabricator

Red Recruitment 24:7 is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Senior MIG Welder/Fabricator to join a busy and well-established engineering workshop in Lincolnshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled fabricator looking to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will play a key role within the workshop, supporting the engineering team while working towards the opportunity to progress into a Workshop Foreman position.
You will work on a wide variety of bespoke engineering and fabrication projects across the agricultural, food manufacturing, commercial and domestic sectors, producing high-quality fabrications and assisting with the day-to-day running of the workshop.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out high-quality MIG welding and fabrication on a range of bespoke projects.
- Manufacture gates, railings, staircases, structural steelwork and custom engineering products.
- Build and repair agricultural machinery, conveyor systems and specialist equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
- Maintain exceptional standards of quality, accuracy and workmanship.
- Support and mentor junior welders and fabricators where required.
- Help organise workflow and ensure jobs are completed efficiently.
- Promote safe working practices and maintain a clean, organised workshop.
- Assist management with workshop operations and take on increasing responsibility as experience develops.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in MIG welding and fabrication.
- Able to fabricate confidently from engineering drawings.
- Strong background in structural steel, bespoke fabrication or similar engineering work.
- Confident using fabrication workshop machinery and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Positive attitude with the ability to lead by example.
- TIG welding experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Previous supervisory or team leader experience is desirable but not essential.
