Overview
Join our dynamic event operations team as an Event Build & Break Crew member! In this energetic role, you will be the backbone of our event setup and teardown processes, ensuring every event runs smoothly from start to finish. Your hands-on involvement will help create memorable experiences by efficiently constructing and dismantling event setups with precision, safety, and enthusiasm. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to be part of a fast-paced environment where teamwork, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving are essential.
All of our events have both a build and a break shift both typically lasting 2-3 hours. These shifts can very often include an early start or late finish so reliable transport links to central London are recommended.
These shifts are offered to all of our build and break crew and are allocated on a first come first serve basis.
Duties
- Assist in the assembly and disassembly of event infrastructure, including stages, lighting rigs, sound systems, and other equipment.
- Follow detailed setup instructions and safety protocols to ensure all structures are secure and compliant with safety standards.
- Load and unload equipment, tools, and materials safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate setup schedules and troubleshoot any logistical issues during build or break phases.
- Conduct inspections of equipment before and after use to identify potential hazards or damages.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area during all phases of setup and teardown.
- Support the team in adhering to event timelines, ensuring timely completion of all build and break tasks.
Experience
- Previous experience in event setup or construction is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right motivated candidate.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and stand for extended periods during physically demanding tasks.
- Strong teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward safety and efficiency.
- Basic understanding of tools, equipment handling, and safety procedures related to construction or technical setups is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to follow instructions clearly and work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or during peak event periods as needed.
