Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive, reliable and experienced Multi-Skilled Groundworker to join our busy team across three commercial business parks, including two Grade II* listed sites.
This is a varied hands-on role suited to someone practical and self-motivated who can take responsibility for groundwork, drainage and a wide range of general repair tasks across the estates. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out repairs, assess issues on site and assist in maintaining the safety, appearance and functionality of the business parks.
The role requires someone with a broad range of practical skills and a “can do” attitude who is comfortable turning their hand to a variety of jobs including drainage, brickwork, plumbing, carpentry and external repairs.
Experience working around historic or listed buildings would be beneficial, although a willingness to learn is equally important.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake general groundwork duties including paving repairs, concreting, kerbing, fencing, bollards, excavation, trench work and minor tarmac repairs.
- Assist with drainage maintenance including clearing blocked drains, gullies, soakaways and investigating drainage issues.
- Carry out minor bricklaying and masonry repairs.
- Undertake basic plumbing repairs.
- Carry out basic electrical maintenance such as lamp replacement and notification of any electrical issues.
- Complete carpentry and joinery repairs including hanging doors, locks, gates, fencing and general woodwork repairs.
- Assist with general building repairs and external maintenance works across the sites.
- Assist with maintaining the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of communal areas, roads, pathways and car parks.
- Work closely with the wider maintenance team and external contractors and escalate specialist issues where required.
- Assist with urgent maintenance issues and emergency repairs when necessary.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with health & safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of completed works and report ongoing issues to management.
- Ensure tools, vehicles, machinery and equipment are maintained in good working order.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in groundwork, drainage, civils, property maintenance or a similar multi-skilled role.
- Practical experience in a range of trades including groundwork, plumbing, carpentry, brickwork and general building repairs.
- Strong practical problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Good communication skills and professional attitude.
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage time effectively.
- Full clean UK driving licence essential.
- Good understanding of health & safety requirements relating to site and maintenance works.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Recent experience operating small plant machinery such as diggers or dumpers.
- Experience working on commercial estates or business parks.
- Experience working around listed or historic buildings.
- First Aid trained is desirable. However, candidates who are not currently qualified must be willing to undertake First Aid training.
- Relevant trade qualifications.

Pay: £36,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
