Support the delivery of Safestore’s digital marketing activity, helping to enhance how customers discover and engage with the brand online.
This entry-level role is suited to a creative and digitally curious individual with a strong interest in content, search and emerging platforms. The role supports the development and optimisation of website content for both traditional search (SEO) and emerging “Answer Engine Optimisation” (AEO), helping to ensure Safestore is visible across search engines and AI-powered tools such as ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Gemini.
Working within a fast-paced commercial environment, the role also contributes to content creation across a range of channels, including website, social media and video. The position provides an opportunity to build hands-on experience across digital marketing, while supporting test-and-learn activity to improve engagement and performance.
The role works closely with the wider Marketing team and external partners, contributing to the ongoing development of Safestore’s digital presence.
Website & Search Visibility
- Support the updating and optimisation of website content to improve visibility across search engines (SEO) and AI-driven platforms.
- Assist with keyword, topic and prompt-based research to identify opportunities to improve search performance and visibility.
- Work with the Digital Experience team to support basic SEO tasks, including metadata updates, internal linking and content structure.
- Help monitor performance using tools such as GA4 and other analytics platforms, highlighting areas for improvement.
Content Creation & Management
- Draft, edit and publish digital content, including web pages, blogs, FAQs and campaign landing pages.
- Create or source supporting visuals, such as images, graphics and short-form video content, using tools such as Canva and AI-based platforms.
- Support the planning and maintenance of content schedules, ensuring updates are delivered on time.
- Ensure content is accurate, consistent and aligned with brand guidelines.
Emerging Channels & Test-and-Learn
- Support test-and-learn activity across emerging channels, including short-form video platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
- Assist with the development of content ideas, including basic scripting, filming and editing, where required.
- Help track performance and engagement, identifying opportunities to improve future activity.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Digital Experience, Performance Marketing and other Marketing colleagues to support aligned and consistent delivery.
- Assist in working with external agencies and content partners where required.
- Provide day-to-day support to the Performance Marketing Manager on campaigns and content activity.
Reporting & Insights
- Support the tracking and reporting of content and channel performance.
- Help identify trends and highlight opportunities for optimisation.
- Contribute to regular reporting and performance updates.
- Support CRO and A/B testing activity, reviewing performance data and highlighting opportunities to improve the digital customer journey.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including testing processes, system updates and release notes.

- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging content.
- A good understanding (or interest in learning) how search engines and AI-driven tools surface and present information.
- Comfortable creating simple digital content, including written, visual or short-form video, using modern tools and platforms.
- Organised and reliable, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working with basic data and performance metrics, with the ability to identify simple insights.
- Awareness of digital trends, platforms and content formats, with an interest in keeping up to date with new developments.
- Experience with digital tools such as Google Analytics, CMS platforms (e.g. WordPress, Kentico) or content creation tools is helpful but not essential.
- Degree in Marketing, Digital Media or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience (including apprenticeships or relevant projects).
