Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated experienced upholsterer to join our team! In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for reupholstering furniture from traditional to modern designs may include repairs fabricating, and maintaining various products using a combination of mechanical skills, hand tools, power tools, and if you can sew this is an advantage.
Your expertise will contribute to the efficient operation of our workshop environment, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and timely completion of projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a small family company that is not like working at a fast paced manufactures.
We also make new items inc sofa and bench seating.
The ideal candidate is physically capable of heavy lifting and has a strong foundation in upholstery knowledge and experience.
Duties
- Use hand tools - staple guns and power tools to assemble components accurately according to specifications
- Perform fabrications involving assembling Sofas and furniture fabric or other materials
- Conduct routine inspections of materials and finished products to ensure quality standards are met
- Assist with warehouse operations including loading, unloading, and organizing supplies
- Handle heavy lifting safely to transport raw materials or finished products within the workspace
- Follow safety protocols during fabrication and assembly processes to maintain a secure work environment
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including assembly steps, materials used, and quality checks
Experience
- Prior experience working in reupholstery and new upholstery is a must.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools
- Familiarity with reupholstery techniques , fabricating, or related craftsmanship is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Experience with assembly processes from start to finish in a production setting
- Basic understanding of safety procedures related to fabrication and warehouse work
