Animal Nursing Assistant – Exeter Vets

Exeter Vets, a friendly and genuinely independent veterinary practice, is looking for an experienced Animal Nursing Assistant (ANA) to join our growing team.
We’re a close-knit practice where everyone plays an important part in providing excellent care to our patients and a personal, friendly service to their owners.
The role
This is a varied, hands-on position working alongside our vets and nursing team. Duties will include:
- Assisting vets and nurses with the care and handling of patients
- Helping with inpatient care and monitoring
- Preparing and cleaning clinical and surgical areas
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment
- Assisting with procedures when required
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene throughout the practice
- Stocking and general practice duties
- Helping to keep the practice running smoothly throughout the day
Hours
30 hours per week, including 1 in 5 Saturday mornings.
About you
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working in a veterinary practice
- Is confident and comfortable handling dogs and cats
- Is reliable, hardworking and happy to get stuck in
- Works well as part of a small team
- Has excellent attention to detail
- Understands the importance of cleanliness and infection control
- Has a genuine passion for animal care
Previous veterinary experience is essential.
