The Role
-
Registered Nurse responsible for the application of the Framework of the Nursing Process to deliver high standards of client / patient nursing care for patients with a range of mental disorders, substance misuse, learning disability or co-morbidity, under the clinical supervision of the caseload holder / charge nurse / team leader, senior charge nurse or practitioner. The registered nurse has delegated responsibility for the appraisal and clinical supervision of students and clinical / healthcare support workers in provision of care and treatment within a defined clinical service, under the management and leadership of the team leader / senior charge nurse or practitioner.
Additional for those with 2 years post registration
- Acting as Named Nurse (or equivalent), responsible for the application of the framework of the Nursing Process to ensure a high standard of client / patient care, delegated by the charge nurse / team leader, senior charge nurse or practitioner who provides clinical supervision to the post holder and retains overall responsibility for patient care. Co-ordinating and supervising a small team of junior nurses or practitioners, students and clinical support workers in delivering care. Where required the post holder will undertake a delegated range of duties of the charge nurse, team leader / senior charge nurse or practitioner in their absence, including taking charge of the clinical area.
In this key role, you will:

Apply values based practice principles such as those of respect and dignity, in all aspects of care and treatment and in interactions with colleagues.

Participate in meetings / forums as agreed with team members, and provide feedback and information as appropriate to the team.

Be fully compliant with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and the other relevant guidance documents, which support and maintain standards of professional practice for nurses and midwives.

Participate in the implementation and monitoring of the organisation’s Clinical Governance Framework and evidence based clinical standards, within the scope and range of the post.

Demonstrate a willingness to perform formal mentorship role to pre-registration Nursing Students; participate in annual updates to maintain Mentorship status.

Participate in the identification of health needs of the local population accessing the service.
What You'll Bring:

A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
