Shoots is a specialist planting company delivering premium interior and exterior planting installations for commercial and hospitality clients across the UK. We create bespoke planting solutions that transform spaces, managing projects from initial consultation and design through to installation and ongoing aftercare.
As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Freelance Planting Project Manager to lead projects from concept to completion.
The Role
This role goes beyond traditional project management. You'll be involved in planning and designing planting installations, preparing project plans, selecting suitable plants and materials, coordinating suppliers and installation teams, and ensuring every project is delivered to the highest standard.
You'll work closely with clients to understand their vision, conduct site surveys, develop practical planting solutions, and oversee installations from start to finish.
Responsibilities
- Plan and manage planting installation projects from initial site survey through to completion.
- Design planting layouts and develop practical planting schemes that suit the client's space, budget and maintenance requirements.
- Select appropriate plants, trees, shrubs, containers and materials for each project.
- Produce planting plans, installation schedules and material lists.
- Measure sites and assess environmental factors including light, access, drainage and irrigation requirements.
- Coordinate plant sourcing, supplier orders and delivery schedules.
- Schedule installation teams and subcontractors.
- Manage project budgets, timelines and resources.
- Carry out site inspections before, during and after installations.
- Ensure installations meet Shoots' quality standards and client expectations.
- Resolve on-site challenges and make design adjustments where required.
- Maintain regular communication with clients throughout the project.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and on schedule.
Requirements
- Experience managing landscaping, planting or horticultural projects.
- Strong knowledge of plant species, planting techniques and landscape materials.
- Ability to read site plans and produce accurate layouts.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel across London and potentially further.
Compensation
This is a freelance, performance-based role.
Rather than receiving an hourly rate or salary, you'll earn a percentage of the value of each completed project you successfully plan and manage.
Your earnings will increase with the size and number of projects you oversee, providing significant uncapped earning potential. The commission percentage will be agreed based on experience and responsibilities.
