Overview
Rebound Care & Support is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and enthusiastic Support Worker to provide person-centred support to a 16-year-old young man with Cerebral Palsy and epilepsy
Our young man is verbal, enjoys listening to music, and benefits from support that promotes his independence, confidence, and overall wellbeing. We are looking for someone who can build a positive relationship with him and support him in accessing activities he enjoys, both at home and in the community. Our client lives in Swindon, and you will be working on 1:1 basis. The role will focus on providing personalised support to enhance his independence, daily structure, respecting boundaries, wellbeing and community engagement. Our client is looking for someone cheerful and confident.
Hours:
School time:
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays 3.30pm - 8.30pm
Fridays 08.00am -8.00pm
Alternative Saturdays 08.00am - 08.00pm ( split shift)
School Term:
Monday to Friday 08.00am - 08.00pm (12 hrs shifts)
Responsibilities
- Administer medication following prescribed instructions and maintain accurate records
- Engage clients in therapeutic activities to promote development and well-being
- Manage behaviour effectively, employing patience and understanding
- Monitor health status and report any concerns to healthcare professionals promptly
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised environment in accordance with health and safety standards
- Support clients with activities that foster independence and social interaction
- Following personalised support plans and risk assessments
Experience
- We are looking for supportive, patient and committed team members to provide the care during the day.
- The Ideal candidates will need to have experience in working with BI clients, attention to detail and have a can-do attitude
- Support individuals in setting and achieving their personal goals.
- Provide guidance and support to the client, ensuring best practices and a person-centered approach.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of all support provided, maintaining professional and respectful documentation.
Training & Background Checks
An enhanced DBS check & full training will be provided prior to commencing work with our client and you will also be supported by our clinical lead nurse for the area.
