Bank Housekeeper

Broadland View Care Home is looking for a reliable, hardworking and caring Bank Housekeeper to join our friendly team.
We are a residential care home supporting older people living with dementia. The successful applicant will help maintain a clean, safe, comfortable and welcoming environment for our residents, visitors and staff.
This is a bank position, providing cover for annual leave, sickness and other staffing requirements. Shifts will be offered according to the needs of the home.
The Role
As a Bank Housekeeper, your responsibilities will include:
- Cleaning residents’ bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the care home
- Vacuuming, mopping, dusting and sanitising surfaces
- Cleaning toilets, sinks, showers and other bathroom facilities
- Emptying bins and disposing of waste safely
- Replenishing toiletries, cleaning supplies and other household items
- Supporting with laundry duties where required
- Changing bed linen and making residents’ beds
- Cleaning high-touch areas in line with infection prevention and control procedures
- Following cleaning schedules and completing records accurately
- Using cleaning equipment and products safely and correctly
- Following COSHH, health and safety and infection-control procedures
- Reporting maintenance issues, hazards, spillages or damaged equipment promptly
- Respecting residents’ privacy, dignity, personal belongings and individual routines
- Communicating politely and respectfully with residents, relatives and colleagues
- Supporting the wider team to maintain a safe and welcoming home environment
About You
We are looking for someone who:

- Is organised and able to manage their workload effectively
- Can work independently and as part of a team
- Is respectful, patient and considerate around older people
- Understands the importance of dignity, privacy and confidentiality
- Is able to follow cleaning schedules and safety procedures
- Can communicate clearly with residents, staff and management
- Is willing to complete all required training
- Can remain calm and professional in a busy care-home environment
Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience would be beneficial, particularly within a care home, hospital, hotel or similar environment. However, training can be provided to the right applicant.
Hours and Pay
This is a bank position with no guaranteed contracted hours.
Shifts may be offered to cover:
