Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations.
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance monitoring to ensure efficient operations.
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen activities.
- Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service delivery and timely serving of dishes.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and minimise waste through effective stock management.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned regularly to uphold health standards.
- Foster a positive team environment that encourages professional development and teamwork.
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a busy culinary environment, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
- Experience with food production processes, menu development, and serving procedures is highly desirable.
- Previous restaurant experience is essential for understanding operational demands and customer service expectations.
