The Mixing Shed Cafe is an independent, family-run café located at Compass Courtyard, just outside Saffron Walden. We are passionate about serving fresh, seasonal and locally sourced food in a welcoming countryside setting.
Our aim is to create more than just a café—we've created a place where people can slow down, connect and enjoy great food together. Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our friendly kitchen team. This is a fast-paced role where you'll play an important part in keeping the kitchen clean, organised, and running smoothly.
Duties
- Washing dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
- Keeping the kitchen, wash-up area, and storage areas clean and tidy throughout the day.
- Assisting with general kitchen cleaning duties.
- Sweeping and mopping floors.
- Emptying bins and maintaining high hygiene standards.
- Helping the kitchen team where required.
- Assist inclosing down the kitchen at the end of the day, ensuring everything is cleaned, sanitised, and ready for the next shift.
What We're Looking For

- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is helpful but not essential
