Citizens Advice Bedford & Mid Bedfordshire is looking for two Money Advisers to join our Money Advice team working across Peterborough. One role is full time for 37 HPW and the other role is part time for 30 HPW. Trainee full time caseworker salary is £25,989.08, rising to £27,684.02 on completion of probation. Salary is pro rata for 30 HPW.
The money advice process can assist people to regain control of their finances in a systematic way. You will assist by looking at ways to maximise income, review expenditure and address budgeting concerns, with a view to finalising a financial statement that will identify debt options that are tailored to the client's specific circumstances. The advice provided is impartial and non-judgemental and is designed to provide the information and advice required to assist clients to find a way forward. Through your exploration and advice our clients will be able to make informed decisions best suited to their needs. You will have excellent communication, empathy and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to use your own initiative and ensure the client is always at the heart of what you do
This is a hybrid role, you may be required to work in our offices in Biggleswade & Bedford, and in our outreaches as well as remotely. This ensures that we can reach clients most in need of our help.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Service Delivery
●Provide money advice casework and/or one-off advice using the full range of options available through appropriate access channels.
●Explore options and implications of advice to enable the client to make informed decisions.
●Carry out income maximisation activities through the identification of appropriate welfare benefits and other financial assistance.
●Advise client to empower them to act on their own behalf, where appropriate.
●Act for the client where necessary by calculating, negotiating, and taking action to identify suitable options to manage their debts.
●Maintain case records for the purposes of continuity of casework, information retrieval, statistical monitoring and to meet required quality standards.
●Assist clients with other related problems where they are an integral part of their case and refer to other advisers or specialist agencies as appropriate.
●Offer support to volunteers working as part of the debt team.
Targets
●Meet targets as set by the Operations Manager in line with Funder requirements.
●Advise debt supervisor of any issues that impact delivery of service of meeting set targets.
●Comply with any instructions to change targets or reporting requirements, as necessary.
Research and Campaigning
●Contribute to both local and national campaigns where appropriate
●Raise and submit evidence forms where client circumstances fit with campaigns
●Raise with clients (after consultation with line manager) the possibility of their involvement in campaigns
Professional Development
●Keep up to date with legislation, case law, policies and procedures relating to specified area and undertaking appropriate training.
●Attend relevant internal and external meetings as agreed with the line manager. ●Undertake all relevant training to comply with contractual requirements
●Prepare for and attend supervision session/team meetings/management team meetings as appropriate.
Administration
●Use IT for statistical recording, record keeping and document production.
●Maintain a library of reference material and case law.
●Liaise with statutory and non-statutory organisations and present the service to outside bodies as appropriate.
Other duties and responsibilities
●Carry out any other tasks that may be within the scope of the post to ensure the effective delivery and development of the service.

●Abide by health and safety guidelines and share responsibility for own safety and that of colleagues
