About the Role
We are looking for an exceptional person to support and supervise students while spending time away from lessons in our Learning Support area. This might be because of SEND or other needs including sensory overwhelm or regulation difficulties.
The successful candidate will have:
- A calm, nurturing approach with clear supportive boundaries, inspiring trust and a sense of safety in students.
- Appreciation of the challenges many young people face including special educational needs and disabilities and social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
- The ability to support students’ learning, though specific subject knowledge is not required.
- The ability to work proactively and flexibly in an ever-changing environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a range of staff members and liaise with parents / carers and outside agencies.
Experience of working with children and/or young people, especially those with additional needs will be an advantage but is not essential.

Hours of work: 31 hours and 15 minutes per week, 8.15am to 3pm, term time only

To be successful in this role you will need to:
- be a good team player with a sense of humour
- have a calm and nurturing approach
- have excellent literacy and numeracy skills
- have classroom experience or experience of working with young people will be an advantage
