INTERNAL OPPORTUNITY
Divisional Finance Director – Water Treatment
We are excited to share an internal opportunity for a high-calibre Divisional Finance Director to join our Water Treatment Division at an important stage in its growth journey.
This is a key leadership role within the division, offering the opportunity to work closely with the CFO, Divisional Managing Director and wider leadership team to shape strategy, improve performance and support the continued growth of the business.
About the Role
The Divisional Finance Director will have responsibility for all aspects of commercial finance and financial reporting across the Water Treatment Division, working closely with the Managing Director and the leaders of our Effluent Water, Advanced Water and Environmental Water businesses.
The division is forecast to deliver annualised revenues of approximately £44m this year, with significant further growth expected over the next three years through both organic growth and targeted acquisitions.
This is a hands-on and commercially focused role. While the successful candidate will need to think strategically and contribute to the division’s future direction, they will also be comfortable getting into the detail — from driving a timely month-end close and understanding budget variances, through to analysing revenue segmentation and contract-level profitability.
The Finance Director will also work closely with the MD and wider leadership team on commercial opportunities and initiatives that will help deliver the division’s future growth ambitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Divisional MD to develop divisional strategy, financial appraisals and business cases.
- Provide insightful financial analysis and commercial insight to support decision-making and improve business performance.
- Lead timely monthly financial reporting and analysis, including understanding and challenging variances to budget.

- Lead and coordinate the annual budgeting and reforecasting cycles, working closely with FP&A.
- Lead, manage and develop the divisional finance teams.
- Support financial and commercial due diligence for Water Treatment acquisitions.
- Take the lead on the financial integration of acquisitions into the division.
- Monitor and manage working capital across the division.
- Ensure customer credit risk is managed in accordance with Group policy.
- Review commercial contracts and associated terms.
- Identify and drive cost-saving and productivity opportunities.
- Develop and implement processes to track sales pipeline, forward revenue cover and backlog.
