*Job Overview*
We are looking for an organised and professional Accountancy Practice Secretary to support the day-to-day operations of our busy accountancy practice. This is a key front-of-house and administrative role, requiring excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
The successful candidate will help ensure the smooth running of the practice while delivering a welcoming and efficient service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Meeting and greeting clients in a professional and friendly manner.
Answering and directing telephone calls and taking accurate messages.
Managing incoming and outgoing post, including scanning and distributing documents.
Providing general administrative support to the team.
Assisting with client onboarding, including internal Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance checks.
Maintaining accurate client records and electronic filing systems.
Preparing correspondence, documents, and client packs as required.
Ordering office supplies and assisting with general office administration.
Supporting the team with ad hoc administrative tasks to ensure the efficient operation of the practice.
About You
The ideal candidate will:
Have previous administrative or secretarial experience (experience within an accountancy or professional services environment is desirable but not essential).
Be organised, reliable, and able to prioritise a varied workload.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Be confident dealing with clients in a professional manner.
Be computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Have strong attention to detail and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Enjoy working as part of a friendly and supportive team.
Hours and Salary
This is an office-based role and is not suitable for remote working. We would prefer the contracted hours to be spread across five days per week to provide consistent support to the practice.
Salary: From £14.00 per hour, depending on experience.
