We are looking for people who love technology, with a background in IT or experience installing, drilling, integrating, setting up and connecting technology. We are looking for an entry-level or with some experience to join us and help with our support services and installation in retail.
What’s it all about?
As one of OMM’s Junior AV Technicians, you’ll be supporting our technology team, on pre-installations and setup in our Swallowfield facilities in West London & Croydon Facilities, helping to run our support service desk and supporting the installation of screens, hardware and fixtures in retail and events. Key requirements will be the testing of equipment, possible installation projects in the UK and across Europe as well as day-to-day requirements. You’ll need to be responsive and flexible in terms of working hours and have the ability to liaise with on-site managers and key people on AV and technical builds.
Key areas of responsibility.
- You need to have a flexible non-9-5 mentality and be aware that there are nights that need to be worked (out of hours) when we do in-store launches. These can be at any location, in the UK and Europe so travel will likely be involved.
- Ensure all support requests are taken care of in a timely manner.
- Work closely with your technology colleagues to ensure all technologies are set up and organised for installations.
- Creation of recap and installation reports.
Key Skills.
- Good communication skills are essential, given the nature of some of these installs requires a quick and effective response to emergency/Ad-hoc requests and or other issues.
- Have a history or clear passion for working in the technology field, installing screens and other hardware.
- IT skills capability allowing you to set up pc. install software and OS.
- Health and safety license/knowledge.
- Be fastidious and a good problem solver, with a can-do attitude.
- Hands-on during a build, with a flexible approach helping wherever you can for OMM or any of its partner agencies.
- Good research skills and active interest in new technologies.
- Keen to learn more about the field and increase existing skillsets with Training etc.
- A clean Driver’s License is essential.
Desirable skills.
- Forklift license.
- A solid knowledge of electrical and current testing methods.
- IT skills for networking and patching cables and setup of routers etc.
- IPAF License 3a/3b.
- DIY skills such as the ability to mount screens to walls, painting and fixing issues.
- Knowledge of LED/projection technologies.
- Electrical apprenticeship or experience.
