Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their early development and learning. Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging activities tailored to the developmental needs of children in accordance with nursery policies and early childhood education standards.
- Supervise and support children during play, learning sessions, meal times, and outdoor activities to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, behaviour, and daily routines to inform ongoing assessments and communication with parents.
- Foster a warm, inclusive environment that encourages children's independence, confidence, and social skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues to organise daily schedules, manage classroom resources effectively, and ensure smooth nursery operations.
- Lead by example in demonstrating excellent communication skills when liaising with parents, colleagues, and external professionals.
- Support the management team in maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations within the nursery setting.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of nursery programmes by sharing innovative ideas and best practices in early childhood education.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early years setting is essential.
- Strong management and leadership skills to guide both children and team members effectively.
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to organise activities efficiently whilst maintaining a nurturing environment.
- Childcare qualifications recognised within the UK (e.g., Level 3 Early Years Educator or equivalent) are preferred.
- Valid driving licence is desirable for roles involving travel between nurseries or community engagement activities.
- A caring attitude combined with organisational skills to support children's individual needs effectively.
