Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Skilled Joiner with multi-skilled maintenance experience to join our growing team. The successful candidate will carry out a range of planned and reactive maintenance works across our property portfolio, delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
You will have strong joinery skills, experience working within facilities maintenance, construction, or building services, and the ability to undertake a variety of maintenance and repair tasks. Depending on your skills, qualifications, and experience, you may also support compliance activities, coordinate specialist contractors, provide technical guidance to colleagues, and assist with more complex maintenance projects.
This role will require working away from home on a regular basis, therefore flexibility to travel and stay overnight when required is essential.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out and lead planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, joinery works, and technical maintenance activities across multiple trades and building systems.
- Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair wooden structures and fixtures, including doors, frames, fire doors, windows, furniture, and other joinery items.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialist equipment safely and effectively to complete a variety of maintenance and construction tasks.
- Perform associated multi-skilled works, including basic decorating, plumbing, roofing, and maintenance repairs where competent to do so.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee maintenance activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to colleagues, promoting best practice and knowledge sharing across the team.
- Take ownership of technical compliance and support the safe operation of critical building systems and services.
- Lead and support statutory maintenance programmes, audits, inspections, and compliance activities, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met.
- Oversee and coordinate contractors and specialist service providers, ensuring work is delivered safely, compliantly, and to the required quality standards.
- Monitor building performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, compliance, and service delivery.
- Ensure all maintenance, compliance, audit, and statutory documentation is accurate, complete, and maintained in line with company procedures.
- Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
- Conduct routine checks and maintenance of tools, equipment, and company assets to ensure they remain safe and fit for purpose.
- Support operatives with day-to-day maintenance activities as required and contribute positively to team performance.
- Report faults, hazards, compliance concerns, and operational issues promptly through company reporting systems.
- Follow instructions accurately and complete all tasks in a safe, professional, and timely manner.
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement across maintenance and facilities operations.
- Travel and work away from home as required to support operational requirements, projects, and maintenance activities across company contract locations.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by management in line with the needs of the business.
Skills and Experience
- Qualified and experienced Joiner/Carpenter with strong multi-skilled maintenance experience.
- Excellent knowledge of carpentry and joinery techniques, materials, and construction methods.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and specialist joinery equipment.
- Experience carrying out maintenance and repair works across a range of building fabric and facilities environments.
- Fire door installation, maintenance, inspection, or certification experience is highly desirable.
- Good knowledge of health and safety requirements and safe systems of work.
