Responsibilities
- Dispense prescribed medications with precision, adhering to legal and safety regulations
- Provide expert advice on medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions to patients and healthcare providers
- Monitor patient medication histories to ensure safety and efficacy of treatments
- Collaborate with medical teams to develop personalised medication plans based on individual patient needs
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions dispensed and stock levels
- Ensure compliance with all pharmaceutical legislation and organisational policies
- Educate patients on proper medication storage, administration, and lifestyle considerations related to their treatments
- Stay updated with the latest developments in pharmacology, including new medications and treatment protocols
Requirements
- Qualified Pharmacist registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or relevant regulatory body
- Proven experience in a clinical pharmacy setting, preferably with ICU experience or similar high-acuity environments
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology principles
- Demonstrated ability in medication administration and patient care practices
- Excellent organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards
- Flexibility to work shifts as required within a healthcare setting; ongoing professional development is encouraged
Pay: From £46,000.00 per year
