Spinal Injury Support Worker
Location: Cardiff
Salary: £16.25 - £17.88 depending on shift.
Job Type: Zero-hour contract
Shifts: 8am-8pm day shifts, 8pm-8am sleeping night shifts
- Week One - Friday sleep shift, Saturday & Sunday day shifts
- Week two - Monday, Tuesday and Saturday sleep shifts Subject to change
Role Overview:
We are offering an opportunity for experienced and dedicated Spinal Injury Support Workers to join our new client in Cardiff, working on a 2:1 ratio working sleeping night shifts. To support their independence and lifestyle, we’re seeking support workers who are confident, empathetic, and capable of building a strong, trusting relationship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting)
- Catheter Care & Bowel Management
- Respiratory Management (cough assist/suctioning)
- Autonomic Dysreflexia Management
- Preparing meals and supporting with nutrition
- Administering medication (training provided)
- Providing emotional support and companionship
- Supporting with mobility and physical activities
- Light housekeeping duties
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience within a similar role, supporting clients with Spinal Injury, catheter care and bowel management
- A caring and compassionate nature
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
A valid UK driving licence essential to drive the WAV during shifts essential (25 year olds + due to insurance)
