General Builder – Strong Carpentry Skills
Cunningham Builders Ltd is looking for an experienced General Builder with strong carpentry skills to join our team.
We carry out a varied range of building works, including insurance reinstatement, refurbishment, structural repairs, extensions and general construction projects.
The Role
We are looking for someone who is confident working independently and as part of a team, with good all-round building knowledge and particularly strong carpentry skills.
Typical duties will include:
- First and second-fix carpentry
- Timber studwork, joists, flooring and roof works
- Hanging doors and fitting ironmongery
- Kitchen and general joinery installation
- General building and property reinstatement works
- Making good following structural and insurance repairs
- Assisting other trades where required
- Working in occupied properties and maintaining a professional manner with customers
- Keeping work areas clean, safe and organised
What We're Looking For
The successful applicant should:
- Have proven experience as a general builder
- Have strong carpentry and joinery skills
- Be capable of working to a high standard with minimal supervision
- Be able to read drawings and follow specifications
- Have a good understanding of general construction methods
- Be reliable, organised and punctual
- Take pride in the quality of their workmanship
- Have good communication and customer-service skills
- Understand site Health & Safety requirements
- Hold a full UK driving licence
