Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic hospitality team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment, supporting culinary staff, and ensuring smooth daily operations. The Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in upholding high standards of hygiene and efficiency, contributing to an exceptional guest experience.
This is offered on a Seasonal Contract until September 2026, with the potential to extend based on performance. The hours for this position are offered on a variable hour’s basis which means flexibility is essential. Business hours for the kitchen are 8am to 10pm from Monday to Sunday.
What you will be doing:
- Washing and sanitising dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils efficiently and thoroughly
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors
- Ensuring all kitchen areas are kept clean, organised, and free from hazards
- Restocking supplies and ingredients as needed to support kitchen operations
- Supporting the movement of ingredients and equipment around the kitchen and storage areas
- Maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with environmental policies
- Supporting the team during busy service periods to ensure swift turnaround of dishes
Experience:
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Familiarity with food preparation, cooking, or hospitality roles is advantageous
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment demonstrates strong organisational skills and adaptability
- Knowledge of health and safety standards relevant to food service environments is beneficial but not mandatory
