Job Summary
iMeta Training delivers funded skills bootcamps and qualifications across IT, cyber security, and business sectors. As Employment Engagement Officer, you'll be the link between our learners and the employers who hire them — building relationships with local and national businesses, sourcing entry-level and progression vacancies, and helping our learners turn their training into real jobs.This is a target-driven, relationship-led role suited to someone who enjoys cold outreach, juggling multiple stakeholders, and seeing the direct impact of their work in learner outcomes.
Commission available for this role.
Salary: £28,000-£50,000 OTE
What you'll do
- Build and manage a pipeline of employers offering vacancies suitable for our learner cohorts, with a focus on entry-level and career-change roles in IT and related sectors
- Proactively contact new employers (cold calling, email, networking) to develop relationships and identify opportunities
- Support delivery of the Gatsby Benchmarks framework for careers guidance
- Liaise with partner organisations to address local employment and skills gaps
- Maintain a working knowledge of ASF funding rules and ESFA monitoring requirements relevant to employer engagement
- Keep accurate, up-to-date records on internal and external management information systems
- Contribute to internal audits and regulatory information requests as needed
- Respond promptly and professionally to employer and learner enquiries by phone and email
- Work collaboratively with the Careers & Inclusion team and Delivery teams
- Meet personal and team KPIs agreed with the Employment Engagement Manager
What we're looking for
- Experience in recruitment, employer engagement, business development, or a similar relationship-driven sales role
- Confidence with cold outreach and building new business relationships from scratch
- Strong organisational skills — able to manage a busy, varied workload independently
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly with data entry and compliance documentation
- A resilient, self-motivated, target-driven approach
- Understanding of (or willingness to quickly learn) post-16 education funding, such as AEB and ESFA requirements — training provided
- Commitment to safeguarding and Prevent duty
Desirable:
- Cold calling experience (2+ years)
- Employer engagement experience (1+ year)
- Background in the education, training, or recruitment sector
