Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced, passionate and committed Senior Residential Childcare Worker to join the team at Rowley Court, a brand-new children’s home in Dudley.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new home from the very beginning, helping to establish a positive, nurturing and safe environment where children and young people can thrive.
As a Senior Residential Childcare Worker, you will play a key role in supporting the Manager and wider team to deliver high-quality care, promote positive outcomes and ensure the home operates in line with legislation, regulations and best practice.
The Role
You will provide day-to-day support and leadership to the staff team, while taking an active role in the care and development of the children and young people living at Rowley Court.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing high-quality, child-centred care and support.
- Acting as a positive role model for children and young people.
- Supporting the Manager with the day-to-day running of the home.
- Leading shifts and providing guidance and support to colleagues.
- Promoting a safe, stable and nurturing environment.
- Supporting children and young people with their emotional, social and developmental needs.
- Maintaining accurate records, care plans, daily logs and other relevant documentation.
- Supporting the implementation and review of individual care plans and risk assessments.
- Responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns, incidents and challenging behaviour.
- Working collaboratively with social workers, education, health professionals, families and other agencies.
- Supporting staff with good practice and ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
- Taking responsibility for the home in the Manager’s absence, where required.
- Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of the home.
- Promoting participation, independence and positive outcomes for every child.
About You
We are looking for someone who is caring, confident, resilient and reliable, with a genuine passion for improving the lives of children and young people.
You will ideally have:
- Experience working within a children’s residential care setting.
- Experience of working at Senior Support Worker, Senior Residential Childcare Worker or similar level.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations and relevant Ofsted expectations.
- The ability to lead and support a team effectively.
- Excellent communication and record-keeping skills.
- The ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- A commitment to promoting positive outcomes for children and young people.
- A relevant Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or equivalent, or be willing to work towards this.
- A full UK driving licence is desirable.

Working Pattern
Full-time | Shift work including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins as required

Pay: £25,420.00-£37,167.30 per year
