Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Gardener to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in horticulture and landscape maintenance, with a passion for cultivating beautiful outdoor spaces. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse gardening projects, utilising a range of tools and techniques to ensure the health and aesthetics of our clients’ gardens. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining high standards of garden care, contributing to the creation and upkeep of vibrant, sustainable landscapes. This position requires own transport to get to site or the yard each day but after completion of a successful probationary period a company vehicle will be supplied.
Duties
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and irrigation systems to maintain and enhance garden landscapes.
- Prune, plant, weed, mow, and water gardens according to best horticultural practices.
- Assist with landscape design projects and implement planting schemes as directed.
- Support the installation of new features such as flower beds, lawns, or decorative elements.
- Ensure all work areas are kept tidy and safe, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Experience
- Proven experience in gardening, horticulture, or landscape maintenance is essential.
- Familiarity with hand tools such as secateurs, spades, rakes, and shovels.
- Experience operating power tools including hedge trimmers, lawnmowers, and leaf blowers..
- Strong understanding of horticultural principles and sustainable gardening practices.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.
- A recognised qualification in horticulture or landscape management would be advantageous but is not mandatory.
